In Summary

With the season entering its decisive phase, the signings could prove pivotal in turning a mixed start into a sustained title challenge.

Kenya Police FC have moved decisively in the mid‑season window, unveiling three eye‑catching foreign recruits as the champions hunt for momentum and a stronger title defence.

The signings, Hernest Briyock Malonga, Yves Koutiama and Bowamba Jacques, were confirmed on Sunday, 4 January 2026, and arrive with a clear brief: inject quality, hunger and intensity into a squad that needs a lift.

Statement signing and intent

The club’s announcement framed the arrivals as more than mere transfers: “Three new signings, one shared ambition: Malonga Briyock, Yves Koutiama, and Bowamba Jacques arrive ready to bring quality, hunger, and intensity as we push forward in the race. Is the league ready for them?”

The message was blunt and bold; Police are not hiding their intent to reassert themselves at the summit.

Profiles of the new recruits

Hernest Briyock Malonga — A Congolese full‑back born in Brazzaville, Malonga arrives from Tanzania’s Coastal Union. Comfortable on the left and capable of pushing into wide attacking roles, his experience with clubs such as Tongo FC, Diables Noirs, Ihefu SC and Singida SC gives Police a versatile option down the flank.

Yves Koutiama — The 26‑year‑old forward from Burkina Faso joins from USFA Ouagadougou. A proven domestic performer with previous spells at Sonabel, Koutiama is expected to add bite and finishing prowess to Police’s frontline.

Bowamba Jacques — At 22, the Congolese centre‑half brings top‑level pedigree from AS Otoho and time with DR Congo powerhouse AS Vita Club. Jacques strengthens the heart of the defence and offers youthful athleticism and aerial presence.

Tactical boost and squad depth

Head coach Dusan Stojanovic now has fresh options across the spine of his team. Malonga’s wing‑back versatility, Koutiama’s attacking threat and Jacques’s defensive solidity address clear needs and give Stojanovic the ammunition to tweak formations and rotate without losing quality.

The trio’s arrival signals a pragmatic push to arrest a wobble in form and re‑ignite the champions’ campaign.

Timing and the title picture

The reinforcements come at a crucial moment. Police have failed to win in their last three matches and currently sit sixth with 22 points, just two behind leaders Kakamega Homeboyz,  though the table toppers have played two more games.

With the season entering its decisive phase, these signings could prove pivotal in turning a mixed start into a sustained title challenge.

Kenya Police have answered the mid‑season alarm with ambition and experience. Now the onus is on the new arrivals to translate promise into points and for the champions to convert squad depth into a run that keeps the trophy defence very much alive.
